Who we are

What we collect

When you contact us, book an inspection or use this website, we may collect:

Your name, phone number and email address.

The address of the property you want inspected, and details about it such as its size, age and access arrangements.

Details you give us about the purchase or sale, such as your settlement or due diligence dates.

Photos, measurements and notes taken during the inspection, which form part of your report.

Invoice and payment records.

Basic website usage information, such as the pages you visit and how you found us, collected through cookies and analytics tools.

How we collect it

Mostly directly from you, through our website forms, by phone, by email or through our booking system. Some information may come from a real estate agent, lawyer or other person acting for you, with your agreement.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

Respond to your enquiry and arrange your inspection or test.

Carry out the inspection and prepare your report.

Send you the report and talk you through it.

Invoice you and keep business records.

Arrange laboratory analysis for meth or asbestos samples.

Improve our website and understand which of our advertising is working.

We will not use your information for anything unrelated to these purposes without your consent.

Who we share it with

Your report belongs to you. We only give it to you, or to someone you ask us to send it to.

We share information only where it is needed to deliver our service, for example with:

The laboratory that analyses meth or asbestos samples.

A contractor holding the relevant asbestos certificate who takes asbestos samples on our behalf.

The providers of our booking, email, accounting and website systems.

We may also share information where the law requires it. We never sell your personal information.

Information stored overseas

Some of the systems we use, such as our website host, booking system, email and analytics providers, store data on servers outside New Zealand. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to the Privacy Act.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies and similar tools, including Google Analytics and Google Ads, to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our advertising. These tools collect information such as your device, browser and the pages you view. They do not tell us who you are. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How we keep it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Reports and records are stored in secure, password-protected systems.

How long we keep it

We keep inspection reports and business records for as long as we need them for the purposes above, and for at least seven years to meet tax and legal obligations. After that we securely delete them.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact our privacy officer at info@fhomesolutions.co.nz. We will respond within 20 working days.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
